Our missionaries to Turkey have been ministering in the Middle East since 2002. They are now living in Armenia, where they train, prepare and send missionaries into Turkey. He speaks and writes in Armenian, Turkish, and Kurdish and she speaks and teaches in Armenian and Turkish.

Their ministry reaches far into the east of Turkey and Northeastern Syria, with a vision to send national church planters into unreached areas of Eastern Turkey, Iran, Syria, Pakistan and other closed countries. Turkey, and specifically Istanbul, is strategically located as a “gateway” for this evangelistic work.

They were motivated to go to Turkey by the fact that it is the largest unreached country in the world.

About Turkey

Turkey is located in both Europe and Asia, making it a natural gateway between the two. The topography and climate of Turkey are quite diverse with mild weather on the coastal plains of the Mediterranean, Aegean and Black Seas, and harsh winters in some of the higher elevations. Although the Turkish government claims to be secular, it is antagonistic toward Christians and other minorities.

Out of 80 million people, there are an estimated 5,000 Christians. The lack of Christian witness, Bibles, Christian materials and Christian churches there became a burden and prayer for these missionaries that has not lifted.
