While growing up as a pastor’s kid at Mount Paran North, I had no intention of pursuing a ministerial career. Without any definitive “calling moment,” I decided to major in Biblical and Theological Studies at Lee University simply because of academic interest, and throughout my four-year experience at Lee, I gradually discovered a passion for people and the Bible that propelled me toward pastoral ministry.
I have since received a Master of Divinity and Master of Theology from Candler School of Theology of Emory University and am currently a Ph.D. candidate studying “Old Testament” at Emory University with aspirations of completing my dissertation in 2018.
I am married to my high-school sweetheart, Amanda, and we have two small children: Kennedy and Judah.
We have served at North since 2009.
Gilead (Robinson), Silence (Endo), The Lord of the Rings (Tolkien)
I have a black belt in karate.
“Happy is the one who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
But their delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law they meditate day and night.”
— Psalm 1:1-2
